Banking, payroll, and bookkeeping records you provide
Xero or software access (only where you authorise it)

Names and email addresses submitted through our contact form

When you contact us by phone, email, or through our website
When you complete onboarding forms or provide information for services

To provide bookkeeping, payroll support, and related services
To communicate with you and respond to enquiries
To invoice and process payments
To meet legal obligations where applicable
To improve our website and service experience

Employees and authorised contractors
Software providers you use or we use to deliver services (e.g. Xero, Google Workspace)
IRD or regulators when legally required

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

6. Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for business and legal purposes. Where required, we retain records for up to 7 years, then delete or anonymise them.

7. Access and correction

You can request access to, or correction of, your personal information by emailing andre@oliveraccounting.co.nz. We aim to respond within 20 working days.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools (including Google Analytics) to understand website usage and improve performance. You can disable cookies via your browser settings.

9. Overseas disclosure

Some data may be stored or processed overseas (for example, by cloud software providers). We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate safeguards under NZ privacy law.

10. Data breaches

If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.

We do not prepare annual financial statements, tax returns, or give tax advice — these should be handled by a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Practice Firm. We’re happy to work with your chosen accountant to ensure they have everything they need.

All reports and records we prepare are based on the information you provide, so it’s your responsibility to make sure that information is correct and complete. While we take care in processing your data, we cannot accept liability for any errors or omissions caused by missing, incorrect, or incomplete details.
